If you and staff want to do it all yourself, we offer classes for beginners and for more advanced students of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

Microsoft PowerPoint™ for Business Professionals

This class is taught with PowerPoint 2007, but is applicable to other versions. Private classes are available upon request.

Microsoft PowerPoint™ - Quick-Start
Tues. & Thurs., April 20 & 22 - 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.

In this class you will learn to navigate through the new PowerPoint ribbon interface. You’ll create your own slide show, add bulleted lists and use document themes. By the end of the first lesson, you will deliver a presentation! Next, you will work with design concepts: copying text and objects, setting character spacing and rearranging slides. Finally you’ll link to Excel data, create a chart and add clip art, animation and sound to give your presentations more punch and excitement.

Basic Microsoft Office experience will be required. Please email us if you'd like a copy of the syllabus.

Microsoft PowerPoint™ - Beyond the Basics
Tues. & Thurs., May 18 & 20 - 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Take PowerPoint to the next level and create high-impact visual aids. You'll discover time-saving tips, work with tables and slide masters, customize document themes, color schemes and handouts, and use advanced techniques for adding multimedia content and running your slide shows. "Before & After" examples show how good design and motion can highlight your key points and increase the success of your business presentations.

Microsoft Excel™ for Business Professionals Series

This class is taught with Excel 2007 but is applicable to other versions. Sign up for individual modules, or register for the series and save! Excel Level 1: Basics
Wednesdays, April 7 & 14 - 5:30-8:30 pm

Get started with Excel! You will begin by reviewing the new Office Ribbon interface. Then you will enter and edit data, select cells and ranges, print worksheets, create formulas and functions, format cell contents, change the appearance of spreadsheets, use Find/Replace, Autocorrect and other tools.

Excel Level 2: Formulas, Functions & Worksheet Management
Wednesdays, April 21 & 28 - 5:30-8:30 pm

Level 2 is for users who are proficient with the basics of Excel. Learn how to manage multiple worksheets, turn your data into attractive charts, insert & edit clip art and pictures, link & protect your data, use templates, design themes and advanced printing.

Excel Level 3: Data Analysis, Pivot Tables & Macros
Wednesdays, May 5 & 12 - 5:30-8:30 pm

In this advanced Excel class, you will work with PivotTables & PivotCharts, create macros to automate routine tasks, use the PMT & FV functions, Goal Seek, Solver, the Analysis ToolPak & the Scenario Manager. You will use 3-D cell references, HLOOKUP, VLOOKUP & IF functions. Learn to create data tables & trendlines, consolidate data, use Data Validation, and Conditional Formatting.

Microsoft Word

Word Level 1: Quick-Start
Understand the basics, starting with the Word 2007 ribbon interface. Learn how to create, edit, and format documents, use Cut, Copy, Paste, Drag & Drop, work with Format Painter, use AutoCorrect, check spelling & grammar, work with tabs & paragraph formatting, create mail merge documents, labels, and envelopes.

Word Level 2: Work Faster & More Efficiently

Give your documents a professional makeover and explore ways to save time. Learn to create, sort & edit tables. Then build reports and documents with section breaks, columns, styles & templates. Create building blocks for text and design elements you use frequently, insert & format graphic objects and navigate long documents.
